EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. (EMDRIA, 2021)
What is EMDR?
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (visual, auditory, or tactile) that allows the brain to resume its natural healing process. As distressing memories are targeted and resolved, the unwanted emotions, negative beliefs, and symptoms that go along with that memory often fade away.
(T. Croitoru, 2014)
EMDR is proven to help trauma and PTSD symptoms, and is a helpful treatment for anxiety, depression, chronic pain and other distressing life experiences.

After the therapist and client agree that EMDR therapy is a good fit, the client will work through the eight phases of EMDR therapy with their therapist.
